The Estonian Computer Science Theory Days started in 2002 as a Tallinn-Tartu event and have been organized biannually since then, from 2017 less frequently. Since 2010, they have repeatedly happened as Joint Estonian-Latvian Theory Days, including also colleagues from Riga.
The Theory Days are meant as an opportunity for Estonian--and Latvian--computer scientists of theoretical orientation to meet, learn about each other's work and socialize. The main target audience of the Theory Days is graduate students in the roles of both listeners and presenters, but the event is open to undergraduates, postdocs, faculty, anyone interested really.
For an idea about the form and content, in particular for the programmes all previous Theory Days, see the Theory Days homepage.
The 35th Estonian and the 9th Joint Estonian-Latvian Theory Days will be held at Klaara-Manni Holiday Center in Randivälja village next to Tori in Pärnu county Fri-Sun 2-4 February 2024.
We will have Paul B. Levy (U. of Birmingham) and Marino Miculan (U. of Udine) as guests.
We will start at 11 on 2 Feb and finish by 15.30 on 4 Feb.
The cost is 325 EUR per participant. This covers accommodation (in rooms of 2 or 3) with full board.
To sign up and also to propose a talk, fill out this form soonest (the sooner, the better we can plan), but not later than Wed 24 January. Upon submission of the form, you will receive an email copy of it, and you can revisit and update your registration, should eg your travel plans change.
(To propose a talk, you can also write separately to one of the organizers.)
Klaara-Manni is about 25 kms from the center of Pärnu. We are organizing a bus from in front of Hotel Pärnu (on Aia street) next to Pärnu coach station to the venue Fri at 10.15 and back Sun at 15.45.
This is aligned with the following coach services:
NB! Our schedule plans are now definite, so do buy your bus tickets to Pärnu now if you'll be travelling on public transportation.
